Separate an arch into labelled teeth
Segmentation separates each arch into individual teeth labelled with FDI tooth numbers (the two-digit notation where the first digit is the quadrant, so an upper right central incisor is 11), plus the gingiva. You get one open surface per tooth and one closed solid per tooth, so the next CAD step can take whichever it needs.
Both arches are required before a run can start. The order exists before the transfer begins, so an interrupted upload leaves a case you can reopen and complete.
Inspect the result before you use it. The viewer shows the tooth masks over the scan, and that visual check is the review step; there is no relabelling tool.

Attach both arches
Add the upper and the lower. The input panel reports when the pair is ready, and you can replace a file in a slot until the run starts.
Run it, then inspect the masks
Running spends 1 credit and happens on our servers. When it finishes, switch the tooth masks on in the viewer, check the teeth you care about, then download the package.
Answers before you run
FDI. Each tooth file is named for its FDI number, and the manifest states the numbering system explicitly, so the next application does not have to guess.

Work through a separation that is not usable
The masks are published as soon as they exist, while the per-tooth files and the archive are still being written.
Wait for the package status to change, then download. If it stays pending, check system status and send us the case number.
Usually tight contacts, heavy scan noise or a missing surface, which leave the separation nothing clean to cut along.
Re-export the arch without trimming, with the interproximal contacts scanned as cleanly as you can, and run it again. If the same tooth fails twice, send us the case number and the tooth's FDI code.
The run completed but produced nothing usable, which points at the input rather than at your settings.
Check that both arches are complete scans of permanent dentition, then run again. If it repeats, send us the case number.
