Know what we accept
OccluTrace works with open mesh files: STL, OBJ, PLY, up to 100 MB per file, and up to 10 000 000 triangles in an STL. Any scanner that exports an open mesh per arch works, and there is no separate integration to buy.
We also take exocad source packages, in DCM and HPS, and convert them on our side after upload. A package the manufacturer has locked cannot be opened by anything except exocad, so for those export a plain mesh instead.
Upload one file per arch, and keep the pair consistent: both sides mesh files, or both sides scanner packages, never one of each. A whole scanner project folder or a ZIP is not a scan and will be turned away.
Export in millimetres. A file exported in inches or microns can look right on screen and still design wrong. The Split Bar workbench checks this and warns you when an arch measures outside the 30 to 90 mm span a real jaw occupies, but the other modules take the units on trust, so it is worth getting right at the scanner.
Export cleanly from your scanner

Common questions about files
Do not trim anatomy to fit. Lower the export resolution in the scanner instead, because trimming removes the surface the alignment actually reads.
Yes. DCM and HPS source packages are accepted and converted on our side. The exception is a package the manufacturer has locked, which nothing outside exocad can open.
No. Use whichever your scanner exports most cleanly.
No. Upper and lower must both be scanner packages or both be mesh files, so replace one source until the pair matches.
Downloads are named from a two-word code derived from the case, not from the file you uploaded and not from the case name you typed. The one exception is the case export archive, whose entries deliberately mirror the filenames you sent us, and even those are cleaned on upload: long digit runs that look like a record number or a date of birth, and runs of capitalised name-like words, are stripped before we store the name. Keep patient identifiers out of filenames anyway.
